Military Courts of AppealsOur lawyers represent service members in the Courts of Criminal Appeals of the Army, Navy-Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard. These courts hear issues of both fact and law, and review cases for legal errors and/or inappropriate sentencing. They have no authority to change findings of not guilty or to increase punishments. A service member can appeal an adverse decision from these service courts of criminal appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (CAAF). The CAAF hears issues of law and does not have authority to change any previous findings of not guilty.
